The $50 Lesson: Are You Losing Sight of Your “Esther”?
I opened the speech with a story about a man named Morris who was so focused on saving $50 on a helicopter ride that he didn’t notice something extremely important [03:13]!
It’s a humorous story with a serious warning: Don’t let your “laser focus” on the daily grind (the $50) cause you to lose focus on the impactful things (your “Esther”)—your team, mission, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, relationships, and other things that keep us grounded.
The D.O.P.E. Framework for 2026
In the video, I break down the four-step framework I use to move from a dream to reality. If you want to finish 2025 strong and prepare for 2026, you need to apply these steps:
- D – Dream in High Definition: Take 10–20 minutes to daydream without limits [07:38].
- O – Offload: Get that dream out of your head and onto paper or a voice recording [09:02].
- P – Plan: Assess your readiness and map out the process [10:07].
- E – Execute: This is where you apply the One Day, One Rep methodology.
