At Parent-Child-Connect, we are dedicated to equipping parents, teachers, mentors, and caregivers with the insights and tools they need to guide the next generation. Education is about shaping minds, fostering curiosity, and creating opportunities for every child to reach their full potential and thrive.
I’m excited to share a call for manuscripts from Educational Research Quarterly, an international, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing education through research and scholarship. This is an incredible opportunity for educators, researchers, and practitioners to contribute work that informs and inspires the field.
If you or someone you know is working on research that explores contemporary issues in education, psychometrics, edumetrics, methodology, or interdisciplinary studies, this is your platform to make a difference.
Educational Research Quarterly Call for Manuscripts
Aims and Scope.
The Educational Research Quarterly is an international, multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the advancement of the practice of education through research and scholarship. The Educational Research Quarterly publishes evaluative, integrative, theoretical and methodological manuscripts reporting the results of research; current issues in education; synthetic review articles which result in new syntheses or research directions; book reviews; theoretical, empirical or applied research in psychometrics, edumetrics, evaluation, research methodology or statistics; descriptions of research in progress which provide new insights; germinal studies which establish new directions for research or the practice of education as well as research of an interdisciplinary nature and replications or extensions of previous work.
The Educational Research Quarterly also entertains commentary on articles published in the journal, data processing technologies, news and notes, as well as issues of contemporary social relevance, minority, cultural or underrepresented groups, or other topics at the boundary between educational science and society.
INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
The Educational Research Quarterly uses a blind review process. Authors must make every effort to avoid inclusion of clues to their identities and each manuscript should include a cover sheet containing the author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s). The cover letter should contain the name of the contact author with complete address, telephone numbers, Fax and E-mail addresses, and professional affiliation; the names of all contributing authors with addresses and professional affiliations; a statement that the work is the authors’ original work; a statement that all human subject guidelines have been adhered to; and an assurance that the manuscript has not been submitted for possible publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be approximately 15-20 pages in length. Longer manuscripts will be considered based on their contributions to the field. Manuscripts must be consistent with the style and format described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th Edition. Instructions for preparing tables, graphs and figures, references, metrics and abstracts appear in the Manual.
Commentaries.
Letters to the editor, book reviews and other forms of commentary must be double-spaced; limited to five pages and should contain no more than nine references. As in all manuscripts, authors should include page numbers and references for quotes. Authors should also be certain that their addresses and phone numbers appear with their commentary.
Graphs and Tables.
The Educational Research Quarterly will accept at no charge a reasonable number of graphs, figures, and tables per article. Graphs should be sent in jpg format. Tables, however, should be in text format. Both tables and charts should be placed in the article where intended, but layout may opt to move them to fit formatting needs. Keep in mind that ERQ is small format, so large charts may be reduced dramatically in size or otherwise re-formatted so as to fit the small format.
Submission Format.
Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts electronically to erquarterly@yahoo.com. The cover page for manuscripts submitted electronically must be saved and submitted separately. Authors who wish to submit hard copies must submit, in addition to the three review copies, electronic version of the manuscript in RTF or Word document files written to CD ROM. Other formats (OpenSource Word, WordPerfect, Works, etc.) and media (floppy disk, flash drives) will be accepted, but may result in delay of review and publication.
References.
The author is responsible for obtaining any releases/permission to copy for borrowed materials used in a submitted manuscript. All material borrowed from other sources must be appropriately cited.
Indexing.
The Educational Research Quarterly is indexed by EBSCO, ERIC, and ProQuest.
By sharing your research, you help elevate the practice of education and empower future generations—something at the heart of everything we do at Parent-Child-Connect.
Shared in collaboration with the Education Research Quarterly Editor, Dr. Olatunde Ogunyemi (aka, my dad!)
