I’ve learned that a successful life is built by taking a series of bold steps.
I’m humbled to share my interview with Bold Journey Magazine! We discussed the experiences, challenges, and “why” behind the work we do here at Parent-Child-Connect.com.
In the feature, we dive deep into what it means to build a legacy in the professional world and within the four walls of our own homes. We talk about the resilience required to lead when things get tough and the importance of showing up authentically for the people who matter most.
Why This Matters for Our Community
As we navigate 2026, the parenting landscape is shifting. We’re seeing a massive move toward something called “Authoritative parenting 2.0.” That’s the sweet spot where we set firm, clear boundaries while maintaining empathy and connection with our children…easier said than done.
This philosophy is at the heart of everything I write and teach. Whether I’m discussing leadership at work or mentorship at the kitchen table, the principle remains the same: We must be the leaders our families and organizations deserve.
Reclaiming the “Analog” Connection
One of the highlights of the interview was discussing the “analog childhood” trend. In a world of constant digital noise, how do we help our children (and ourselves) find value in the real, the tactile, and the present?
Leading doesn’t mean having all the answers or the newest gadgets; it means being the person who stays when others leave. It’s about consistency, compassion, transparency, and values.
Take the Next Step in Your Leadership Journey
The insights shared in the Bold Journey feature are just the beginning. I’ve spent years refining these concepts into a practical framework for anyone ready to elevate their influence.
My upcoming book, “Lead Last: Twenty-One Counterintuitive Principles for Becoming an Effective Leader,” is officially available for pre-sale!
If you’ve ever felt that traditional leadership models are missing the “heart” piece, this book is for you. It’s a guide to becoming the kind of leader people want to follow, starting with the most important team you’ll ever lead: your family.
