When my oldest brother, Clement, came up with the idea to start giving to others, I couldn’t help but become his biggest hype man. He was extremely passionate about it, and I knew that finding a way to invest in the parish we grew up in was the right way to make a change and be part of the solution, instead of just glorifying the problem.

That vision became the heart of the Ogunyemi Family Foundation and our flagship effort, the Wisdom, Strength, and Endurance Scholarship.

We started small, launching with a $500 scholarship award amount in our very first cycle. Since then, we have increased our award amount every single year. Today, we award $3,000 to two separate scholarship recipients each cycle. Over these 10 cycles, we have had the genuine pleasure of investing tens of thousands of dollars right back into Lincoln Parish students to reduce financial barriers to their higher education and career goals, awarding students who have triumphed in the face of adversity.

Celebrating 10 Years: The 2027 Scholarship Gala

Now that we are 10 cycles in, we are excited to host The Ogunyemi Family Foundation Scholarship Gala & 10th Anniversary on May 22, 2027, in Ruston, Louisiana, to celebrate this milestone and continue building momentum for the future.

We would love for you to be a part of the difference we are trying to make. If you can join us in 2027, we look forward to seeing you there. If you can’t attend, please consider donating via PayPal. Any amount helps level the playing field, and every dollar goes directly toward helping a student achieve their goals.
